Helcraw Water, in partnership with the City of Harare, has successfully concluded a two-day Smart Water Meter Training Programme held from 13 to 14 July 2026 for 50 municipal water superintendents, reinforcing its commitment to building the technical capacity required to support the city’s ongoing water infrastructure modernisation.
The intensive programme focused on the practical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of smart prepaid water meters, equipping frontline supervisors with the technical expertise needed to oversee quality installations and effectively manage field operations.
Participants also received comprehensive training on the digital capabilities of the smart metering system. The sessions covered real-time water consumption monitoring, digital billing, remote data collection, fault reporting, and improved customer service, ensuring supervisors have a thorough understanding of both the technical and digital aspects of the technology.
The training programme forms part of Helcraw Water’s broader strategy to develop a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting the successful implementation of Harare’s smart water programme. By strengthening the capacity of municipal personnel, the initiative will help ensure efficient installation, reliable system management, and enhanced service delivery for residents.
